Final photos - from Barcelona and Nice. There is some amazing architecture by the famous Antoni Gaudi, including the Sagrada Familia Cathedral, so far under construction for 80 years and estimated to be completed in 2030, and La Pedrera, a fantastic Gaudi apartment block. There are also the usual fountains and statues. Enjoy!

Here's some more pics for you - this is Monaco and Rome. Living history! I wonder if someone's future daughter will be travelling to Washington, DC to take pictures of the ruins, and some guys will be standing around in army uniforms and machine guns, to have their picture taken with you. Interesting to think about.

Here are some photos taken by my daughter Amanda on her recent holiday to Paris, Italy and Barcelona. I have to admit I am envious - this is a trip I would love to take. She didn't get to see the Pope, but she did see where he lives! Enjoy the pics - these ones are from Paris. More from Rome and Barcelona later.

Went to the Saskatoon Exhibition on Saturday evening with some friends. My friend's husband Eric tried all evening to talk someone into going on a ride with him, but no dice. I'm not sure if he kept asking because he knew we would never go along with him, or if he actually thought he could still handle the spinning! Not likely!! We did watch the other adrenalin junkies spend money for the privilege of screaming their lungs out. The Bungie Slingshot ride cost $65 - for that two people can get flung into space, and receive 2 t-shirts and a video to prove it. Total ride time - 30 seconds. Man, I could hit them with a bat for $30 and they'd get the same effect! Should set up a booth and see what happens! Fair food was great, with the mini donuts, chili dogs and caramel apples. Good evening.

The Sun in Hydrogen Alpha
|
|
The Hydrogen Alpha Telescope blocks out the bright white light of the Sun and lets its true color show through. Pictures were taken with an Olympus Stylus 400 digital camera and a Coronado PST Hydrogen
Alpha Telescope, at magnifications between 40-50x.

First step towards our camping trip in July - we got a new tent! Its 8ft by 10 ft, quite abit larger than our last one that barely slept 2 people. Amanda has already scouted out her "area" of the tent - I'm expecting to see a line of tape dividing off her area, and I bet it will be more than half the tent!

Here are some photos from my weekend at my parent's house. No one blade of grass is allowed to be longer than the others, and the flowers, vegetables and trees are all under my father's complete control! You could eat off his sidewalk. Its quite amazing.

This evening was our staff bbq at Gloria & Jerry Reimer's home. It rained during the day, but the sun came out and we had a great time in their backyard. There was lots of good food, and laughs aplenty! Gloria & Jerry were wonderful hosts, and as you can see from the pictures we really enjoyed the evening and each other.
